In Genesis, chapter 1, verses 26 and following it is written:

God said: “Let us make man in our image and likeness; May he command the fish of the sea and the birds of the sky, the beasts, the wild beasts and the creeping things that crawl on the ground. And God created man in his image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them. God blessed them by telling them: be fruitful and multiply, fill the Earth and subdue it, command the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky and every animal that lives on the Earth. “God saw that everything he had made was very good.”

Word of God, we praise you Lord.

The man admires the beauty of the female body. Unquestionably, a work of art. And when a man falls in love with a woman and marries her, he knows her better and realizes every day the greatness of the love that his wife gives him: a delicate, patient, growing love… And that love enjoyed in body and soul. soul makes him happier, and the first love grows day by day. The woman contemplates in rapture the manly body and the strength of the man: a work of art created by God for the wife. And when the man and the woman get married, she feels loved and protected by him, and together, step by step, united they constitute a beautiful family where love reigns.

Husband and wife come together and are one person. This is what marriages of one, two, five, ten, twenty-five, fifty, seventy-five years have experienced and demonstrated.

Love is the greatest need of men and women, of children and the elderly. Love is like the sun that warms in the middle of the cold, like water that adapts to the container where it is poured. Love heals wounds because it is like perfumed oil. Love removes tensions, relaxes, serene… Feeling loved is a point of support. To love is to live and living requires love. Happy are the spouses who love each other, forgive each other, and grow in marital harmony. Happy are the children who see love in their parents and grandparents.

The love of spouses comes from above, from God the Creator Love. Franki met many girls prettier, more intelligent, richer than Ana Lupe, and yet he fell in love with Ana Lupe. Many gentlemen more elegant, stronger, more intelligent, richer than Franki, Ana Lupe met, and yet, Ana Lupe fell in love with Franki, her husband. The love of the Creator God that he placed in the hearts of man and woman, the love that Christ wants to nourish every day, the love that the Holy Spirit makes creative, the love that the Virgin cares for, protects, defends as the Mother of spouses does not lose it, take care of it, water it, multiply it, and if there have been wounds, heal it and cure it at night.

(SINGING)

Pope Francis, commenting on this gospel, said: “This Sunday’s gospel offers us the Word of Jesus about marriage. Jesus returns to the book of Genesis, which says: ‘From the beginning of creation He made them male and female, so a man will leave his father and his mother and the two will become one flesh.’ And he concludes by saying: ‘What God joined together, let man not separate.’ In the original project of the Creator, it is about a man and a woman called to recognize each other, to complete each other, to help each other in marriage. This teaching of Jesus is very clear and defends the dignity of marriage as a union of love that implies fidelity. What allows spouses to remain united in marriage is a love of mutual giving sustained by the grace of Christ. If, instead, individual interest and self-satisfaction prevail in the spouses, then their union will not be able to resist, and it is the same Gospel page that reminds us with great realism that men and women can make gestures that put them in crisis. their union. Jesus confirms God’s plan, which highlights the strength and beauty of the human relationship. The Church, on the one hand, never tires of confirming the beauty of the family as it has been given to us by scripture and tradition, but at the same time, it strives to make its maternal closeness felt concretely by those who live the experience of relationships. broken or that continue to move forward in a long-suffering and tiring manner.”

(SINGING)

Tertullian, in the second century, told his wife: “There are no words to express the happiness of a marriage that the Church unites, the divine oblation confirms, the blessing consecrates, the angels record it and God the Father ratifies it.” How sweet is the yoke that unites two faithful in the same hope, in the same law, in the same service! They are both brothers, they both serve the same Lord; There is no disagreement between them, neither of flesh nor of spirit. They are truly two in one flesh, and where the flesh is one, the spirit is one: they pray together, they worship together, they fast together, they teach each other, they endure each other. They are equal in the Church, equal in the banquet of God; They equally share the sorrows, the persecutions, the consolations. They have no secret from each other, they never shy away from each other’s company, they are never a cause of sadness for each other. They sing psalms and hymns together. The only thing they compete with is to see which of the two will love better. Christ rejoices in seeing such a family and sends them his peace. Where they are, He is also present there; and where He is, the evil one, the devil, cannot enter and destroy the marriage.

(SINGING)

Faithful marriage is one created by God the Father. The wife wants her husband’s fidelity. The husband wants his wife’s fidelity, and cannot demand fidelity from her if he is not faithful to her. The wife says to her husband:

“The day you don’t love me, anything will happen, the winds will go out, the roses will die. The sky will be dark and the stars will fall like crazy compasses, the rivers will dry up and the lark will fall, the Earth will be left without music and without girlfriends. The day you don’t love me, I will die with your name pressed in my mouth.”

The husband says to his wife:

“I do not identify you, woman, so as not to imprison you or cruelly take away your charms. You are, woman, the most sublime creature, mother, queen, companion, stimulus, girlfriend, lover, gardener of love and caresses, exquisite alchemist, long-suffering, gallant, bastion of graces and virtues, gentle, graceful and beautiful, rhythmic, sensual , scary. You are a precious voice of the universe, a perfumed flower that withers in the afternoon of life, a chest full of essences, a talisman, a spell, a slender, brittle stem in the flowered gardens of the path. Teacher, martyr, heroine, arpeggio of astral music that madly chains souls. Bottomless well of affection and donation, diadem of brilliant gems, sacred urn of the heart in love, red carnation of ignited love that lovers proudly display, devouring inextinguishable fire in the graying soul of those who wait for long nights.

(SINGING)

God has created fruitful marriage. How wonderful the children! How wonderful that they were in the mother’s womb fertilized by the love of their father! How wonderful to celebrate and remember the day of birth, baptism, and end-of-year parties! How wonderful to breastfeed them, bathe them, feed them, surrounded by family affection! How wonderful to play with them, help them with schoolwork, educate them, scold them, guide them, teach them household chores! How wonderful to feel your hugs, caresses, affection! How wonderful to have cared for them in their illnesses and difficult times! How wonderful to see them grow! How wonderful to feel proud of them for their uprightness, honesty, helpfulness, and industriousness! How wonderful a fruitful marriage!

(SINGING)

On Monday, October 4, we celebrate the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. The spouses pray this prayer attributed to Saint Francis adapted to marriage:

“Lord, make our home a place of love, so that there is no injury because you give us understanding; let there be no bitterness because you bless us; let there be no selfishness because you encourage us; May there be no resentment because you give us forgiveness; May there be no abandonment because you are with us; that we know how to march towards you in our daily lives; May every morning dawn another day of dedication and sacrifice; May every night find us with more love as husbands. Make, Lord, of our lives that you wanted to unite, a page full of you. Do, Lord, for our children what you long for, help us educate them and guide them along your path, may we strive for mutual comfort, and make love a reason to love you more; May we give the best of ourselves to be happy at home, that when the great day of going to you dawns, you grant us all to be united.” Amen.

The husband read to his wife the part that corresponds to him in the book of the Bible “Song of Songs”. The wife reads her part to her husband. They will feel that the love declared and manifested between him and her is a sign of the faithful love of the Father God for his people.

(SINGING)

Today is the day of the Seminar. Each Catholic becomes godfather or godmother of the seminarians. Our Havana seminarians are called: Ricardo, Yordanis, Alegnys, Luis Ángel, José Luis, here in Havana. In Santiago de Cuba there are the Havana seminarians, Dionne and Lázaro. Call the Seminary phone number 77924660 and say the name of the seminarian for whom you wish to pray more frequently.

We pray to the Lord to send us many priests, many nuns, many deacons, to serve and teach our grandchildren and other relatives.

God the Father, owner of the harvest, send us workers…

Lord Jesus Christ, Savior, call many disciples to be with you and announce the Gospel…

Holy Spirit inspires many children, adolescents and young people to be priests, deacons, nuns, brothers…

Saint Mary of Charity look at the need of your people and ask your children for generosity to give body and soul to the cause of your Son…

Holy Curé of Ars, patron of priests, accompany your children so that their testimony may inspire vocations…

Blessed Olallo Valdés takes care of the innocence of children and adolescents and asks God the Father for many teachers of faith and love…

Virgin of Charity, sweet Mother, do not go away, your sight of me, of my sick people, of my family, do not separate, come with us everywhere and never leave us alone. And since you protect us so much as a true Mother, let her bless us in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
