We hear in all churches the gospel according to Saint Mark, chapter 9, verses 38 to 48.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(GOSPEL)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The book of Numbers in chapter 11, verses 25 to 29 tells us:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Lord came down in the cloud, the Lord came down in the Cloud, spoke with Moses and, taking away some of the spirit that he possessed, he gave it to the sixty elders. As soon as the spirit settled on them, they began to prophesy&#8230; Two of the group, named Eldad and Medad, had remained in the camp. Although they were one of those designated, they had not gone to the store. But the spirit rested on them, and they began to prophesy in the camp. A boy ran to tell Moses: \u201cEldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.\u201d Joshua, son of Nun, Moses&#8217; assistant since he was young, intervened: &#8220;My Lord, Moses, forbid it.&#8221; Moses answered him: \u201cAre you jealous for me? \u201cOh that all the people of the Lord would receive the spirit of the Lord and prophesy!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Something similar happened in the time of Christ. The apostle John has protested because one, who was not from the group of apostles, was casting out demons in the name of Christ. And Christ&#8217;s response has been: \u201cWhoever performs a miracle in my name cannot then speak about me.\u201d Every person who does good, even if he does not know Christ, is in favor of Him. How wonderful that all of us, believers or non-believers, Catholics, Orthodox, Evangelicals, Muslims, Santeros, Spiritualists, do good. Let us serve those most in need, let us help each other to facilitate and support works of mercy, regardless of beliefs, different opinions and thoughts. All this is pleasing to God the Creator, Savior, Sanctifier.<\/p>\n<p>This has also happened in our family. The mother-in-law who is not accepted by the daughter-in-law, at certain times helps the daughter-in-law in one way or another, who is surprised. The daughter-in-law, whom the mother-in-law has criticized many times, accompanies her, protects her, defends her in difficult circumstances and the daughter-in-law from then on sees her mother-in-law as a mother.<\/p>\n<p>And we observe with admiration that people in conflict become friends, mutual servants; and the glory of God is noted and love overcomes disagreement.<\/p>\n<p>In the Church, which is one body, although there are different parts, people of different ages, personal stories, past conflicts, we are all called to serve together to all those who need our charity.<\/p>\n<p>On September 20, 2015, Pope Francis concluded his homily at Mass in Havana: \u201cHe who does not live to serve is not useful to live.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Let us all serve together at home, in the Church, in the neighborhood, in the city and we will be very happy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(SINGING)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis spoke this Sunday, September 19:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNowadays the word \u2018service\u2019 seems a little faded, worn out by use. But in the Gospel it has a precise and concrete meaning. Serving is not an expression of courtesy: it is doing like Jesus, who, summing up his life in a few words, said that he had come &#8216;not to be served, but to serve&#8217; (Mk 10, 45). Thus said the Lord. Therefore, if we want to follow Jesus, we must follow the path that He himself has outlined, the path of service. Our fidelity to the Lord depends on our willingness to serve. And this is difficult, we know, because &#8216;it tastes like a cross&#8217;. But as we grow in care and availability toward others, we become freer inside, more like Jesus. The more we serve, the more we feel God&#8217;s presence. Especially when we serve those who have nothing to give back to us, the poor, embracing their difficulties and needs with tender compassion: and there we discover that in turn we are loved and embraced by God.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dDear brothers and sisters, challenged by the Gospel, let us ask ourselves: I, who follow Jesus, am I interested in the most abandoned? Or, like the disciples that day, do I seek personal gratification? Do I understand life as a competition to make a place for myself at the expense of others, or do I believe that standing out is serving? And, specifically: do I dedicate time to some &#8216;little one&#8217;, to a person who does not have the means to reciprocate? Do I take care of someone who can&#8217;t return the favor, or just my family and friends? These are questions we can ask ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dMay the Virgin Mary, humble servant of the Lord, help us understand that serving does not diminish us, but rather makes us grow. And that there is more joy in giving than in receiving (cf. Acts 20:35).\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>(SINGING)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The gospel has told us that whoever leads one of the little ones and children to sin and scandalize, it would be better for him to have a millstone tied around his neck and be thrown into the sea.<\/p>\n<p>Fathers and mothers who fight in front of their children make children suffer. Children are shocked by a father or mother who insults their grandparents. Children cry when their father leaves home and abandons the family. Children suffer when they share with their friends what their mother and father bought them and they fight them for having shared.<\/p>\n<p>Children are happy when their parents hold them, kiss them, accompany them, are by their side, play with them, tell them stories. Children are happy when their parents teach them, review their classes and prepare them from a tender age for household chores. Children are happy when they share with their parents what their grandparents, godparents, and neighbors gave them.<\/p>\n<p>Every dad, every mom, can make their children very happy through love expressed in words and continuous presence and actions.<\/p>\n<p>Children can also make their parents happy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA beautiful orange vase fell from Alicia&#8217;s hands and shattered on the floor. She picked up the pieces and threw them in the trash. Later, he saw that Elena, his little daughter, had taken the pieces out of the trash and glued them on a piece of cardboard. Then, using a green pencil, he had drawn stems and leaves, turning everything into a bouquet of pretty flowers. Alicia was moved to tears. Where she had seen waste, Elena had seen treasure.\u201d In a similar way, God picks us up from the rubbish of sin and turns us into something beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>Do I know someone who is a little confused, but has a treasure inside? What can I do to help this person rebuild their life?<\/p>\n<p>The human race would be much poorer if it had not been for those men and women, who decided to take risks, against all odds, and help people who were always thought to never get out of their troubles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(SINGING)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s gospel also tells us about sin and rejecting it energetically. He does it in a hyperbolic or exaggerated way in the expression. Of course, we don&#8217;t have to cut off our hand or foot or gouge out our eye, but we do have to distance ourselves from the opportunity to commit sin. Remove the bad urgently like a surgeon does with cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The best way to overcome sin is to recognize it, confess it and make amends.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>I confess,<\/em><\/strong> <em>thus, without hesitation and without detours,<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><strong><em>before Almighty God<\/em><\/strong><em>,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>before which there is nothing hidden. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>and before you, brothers<\/em><\/strong><em>, <\/em> <\/p>\n<p><em>to whom I am also guilty and responsible, <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>that I have sinned a lot<\/em><\/strong><em>, so, just as it sounds: that I am worse than I seem and when they judge me badly they fall short, because I have sinned in every possible way: <\/em> <\/p>\n<p><strong><em>of thought, word, deed and omission<\/em><\/strong><em>,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>and I don&#8217;t blame anyone, because it has always been <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>because of me, because of my fault, because of my great fault,<\/em><\/strong><em> but I am sincerely sorry, so much so that I am going to make amends for my sins as soon as possible and in the fullest way possible.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Now, I see that I need all the goodness of God to deserve forgiveness and all his strength to rebuild my life.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>That is why I ask Holy Mary, ever Virgin, the angels, the saints and you, brothers, to intercede for me before God, our Lord.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(SINGING)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow, Monday, we celebrate the feast of Saint Vincent Paul.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you Saint Vincent for your daughters and sons. We thank you, because the blessing of your life has come to us through these followers of yours. On Saturday we celebrate the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels. Let us pray like when we were children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy guardian angel, sweet company, may you forsake me neither night nor day. Do not leave me alone, I would lose myself&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>We put everything, our family, all our sick people in the hands of God the Father and we pray the prayer that Jesus Christ taught us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(Our Father Prayer)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>And in the hands of the Virgin we place our sick. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>God save you, Mary, full of Grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among all women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
