A father who abandoned his children can return home, hug his children and ask for forgiveness. A child who left his elderly parents alone can reflect, reconsider and make them happy with his return.<\/p>\n<p>Every bad person can be good and a good person can be better.<\/p>\n<p>The Bible is full of conversion stories: the army commander who crucified Jesus exclaimed: Truly this was the son of God (Mark 15:39; the conversion of Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10; the conversion of the crucified good thief to the side of Jesus; (Luke 23, 42); the conversion of Saint Paul; (Acts 9, 1-19); the conversion of Lydia and her family in the city of Thyatira (Acts 16, 14-15); the conversion of the sinful woman who anointed Jesus in the house of Simon, the Pharisee (Luke 7, 36-50); the conversion of the Samaritan woman (John 4); the conversion of the adulteress (John 8, 1-11); the conversion of Jonah and the people of Nineveh that we read today in the first reading of Sunday mass.<\/p>\n<p>Reading the book of Jonah.<\/p>\n<p>The book of Jonah tells us that God&#8217;s love has no boundaries and excludes no one. This book that belongs to the Old Testament is worth reading.<\/p>\n<p>(Singing)<\/p>\n<p>The Lord Jesus wants to use each one of us so that our family believes in the gospel and approaches the Kingdom of God.<\/p>\n<p>For the conversion of all and for the Kingdom of love Jesus needs disciples. Pope Francis tells us how to be a disciple of Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>What does it mean to be disciples of Jesus? According to today&#8217;s Gospel we can take three words: seek Jesus, live with Jesus, announce Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, search. Two disciples, thanks to the Baptist&#8217;s testimony, began to follow Jesus and He, &#8220;seeing that they were following Him, asked them: &#8220;What are you looking for?&#8221; They are the first words that Jesus addresses to them: above all, he invites them to look inside themselves, to question themselves about the desires they carry in their hearts. &#8220;What are you looking for?&#8221;. The Lord does not want proselytes, he does not want superficial \u201cfollowers\u201d, the Lord wants people who question themselves and allow themselves to be challenged by his Word. Therefore, to be disciples of Jesus it is necessary above all to seek Him, to have an open, searching heart, not a satisfied or satisfied heart.<\/p>\n<p>What were the first disciples looking for? We see it through the second verb: live. They were not looking for news or information about God, or signs or miracles, but they wanted to find the Messiah, talk to Him, be with Him, listen to Him. The first question they ask: &#8220;Where do you live?&#8221; And Christ invites them to be with Him: &#8220;Come and see.&#8221; Being with Him, staying with Him, this is the most important thing for the disciple of the Lord. Faith, in short, is not a theory, no, it is an encounter, it is going to see where the Lord lives and dwelling with Him. Find the Lord and dwell with Him.<\/p>\n<p>Search, live and, finally, announce. The disciples were looking for Jesus, then they went to Him and spent the entire afternoon with Him. And now, announce. They come back and announce. Search, live, announce. Am I looking for Jesus? Do I live in Jesus? Do I have the courage to announce Jesus? That first encounter with Jesus was such a strong experience that the disciples forever remembered the time: &#8220;it was about the tenth hour.&#8221; This shows the strength of that meeting. And their hearts were so full of joy that they immediately felt the need to communicate the gift they had received. In fact, one of the two, Andrew, rushes to share it with his brother, Peter, and takes it to the Lord. Seek the Lord, be with Him.<\/p>\n<p>Brothers and sisters, today let us also remember our first encounter with the Lord. Each of us has had a first encounter, both within the family and outside&#8230; When did I find the Lord? When did the Lord touch my heart? And let us ask ourselves: Are we still disciples in love with the Lord, do we seek the Lord or have we settled into a faith made of customs? Do we live with Him in prayer, do we know how to be silent with Him? Do I know how to live in prayer with the Lord, to be silent with Him? And then, do we feel the desire to share, to announce this beauty of the encounter with the Lord?<\/p>\n<p>May the Most Holy Mary, the first disciple of Jesus, grant us the desire to seek Him, to be with Him and to announce Him.<\/p>\n<p>(Song)<\/p>\n<p>From January 18 to 25, the Church prays for Christian unity.<\/p>\n<p>The Second Vatican Council, in the decree on ecumenism, has proposed: \u201cPromoting the reconstruction of unity among all Christians is one of the main purposes of the Holy Second Vatican Ecumenical Synod. It is common among Catholics to gather to pray for the unity of the Church with that prayer that the Savior himself, on the eve of his death, ardently prayed to the Father: \u201cMay they all be one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In some special circumstances, such as prayers for unity and in ecumenical assemblies, it is lawful and even desirable for Catholics to join with separated brothers in prayer. These common prayers are a highly effective means of asking for the grace of unity and authentic expression of the ties that continue to unite Catholics with separated brothers: \u201cWhere there are two or three gathered in my Name, there I am in the midst of they&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>We pray:<\/p>\n<p>May our voices and our hearts join, brothers, in the prayer of all Christians, to ask God, our Father, for one flock, under one Shepherd.<\/p>\n<p><em>May they all be one&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We ask for the holy Catholic Church: so that, with humility, it recognizes and confesses its faults before all Christians and is always ready to forgive the offenses it has received from them. Let us pray to the Lord.<\/p>\n<p><em>May they all be one&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Let us pray to the Lord for the bishops and priests of the Orthodox churches, for the pastors of non-Catholic Christian communities: so that they guide their faithful with selflessness and firmness toward unity in love and truth. Let us pray to the Lord.<\/p>\n<p><em>May they all be one&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For all of us and for the members of our Church, so that our fidelity to the Gospel purifies us from all sectarianism and makes us love those who do not think like us. Let us pray to the Lord.<\/p>\n<p><em>May they all be one&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Almighty and eternal God, who wants the<\/em> <em>union of all your children<\/em>: <em>look u<\/em><em>pon us with kindness,<\/em> <em>and since they have consecrated us with the same baptism, may the ties of charity unite us in the fullness of faith. Through Jesus Christ our<\/em><em>Lord<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Am<\/strong><strong>en.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our father\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>God save you, Mary\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And the blessing of Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, descend upon you, upon your families, upon those who have made this broadcast possible and remain forever.
