Today we announce to you, brothers and sisters, Good News, great joy for the people&#8230; Listen to it with a joyful heart.<\/p>\n<p>Millions of years had passed since God wanted to create heaven and earth out of nothing. Many centuries had passed since light and life were raised by the power of God and the earth was filled with trees and plants, the seas with fish, the air with birds, the forests with animals. Even after many centuries, God created man in his image and likeness, breathed on him the spirit of life and after disobedience and sin, promised the coming of a Savior.<\/p>\n<p>Two thousand years after our father Abraham left his country of Ur of Chaldea to reach the promised land as the first fruits of the chosen people&#8230;; fifteen centuries after the liberation of the people of Israel, when God made them leave Egypt&#8230;; after years of long waiting and exile, when God sent prophets to his people to keep hope awake in the promises of a Messiah who should free Israel from the yoke of its oppressors&#8230;; in the one hundred and ninety-fourth Olympiad of Greece, in the year 752 of the founding of Rome&#8230;; In the 42nd year of the reign of Emperor Octavius \u200b\u200bCaesar Augustus, when immense peace reigned over the entire earth, Jesus Christ, the eternal God, the Son of the eternal Father, wanted to consecrate the world with his merciful coming announced by Gabriel the Archangel, conceived by of the Holy Spirit, was born in Bethlehem of Judea, the Savior made man.<\/p>\n<p>(Singing)<\/p>\n<p>Today in all the Christian churches of the world, the gospel of Luke chapter 2, verses 1 to 12 is read.<\/p>\n<p>(Gospel)<\/p>\n<p>It is very easy to make the birth of Christ present in our minds. All mothers remember the time of pregnancy and the day of their child&#8217;s birth. All mothers remember the concerns, uncertainties and hopes of pregnancy and also the immense joy they felt when hearing their child&#8217;s cry. All fathers remember the concern for their pregnant wife and the rush to get everything ready to receive the new child, the fruit of the spouses&#8217; love. All parents remember when they first saw their son or daughter and have never forgotten the indescribable joy they experienced.<\/p>\n<p>All siblings remember the immense curiosity and anxiety to meet their little brother or sister and the great desire to carry him or her, which perhaps the grandmothers did not allow. With these unforgettable memories we relive what Saint Joseph and the Virgin experienced and we enjoy the joy of the birth of Christ.<\/p>\n<p>We celebrate today and in these days that the Son of God, who is God from eternity, became a child like us and this child tells us that life is a gift from God, a joy for all, endless laughter, a love without measures, a dedication without limits, a teacher of the greats, a bridge of union in discussions.<\/p>\n<p>The child God came to make us happy. Let&#8217;s make happy all the children who the only gift they ask for is the love of dad, mom, grandparents, siblings and friends. Having this gift makes other gifts unnecessary. Today is the day to love them, carry them, hug them, accompany them. One way to give this love is to take them to contemplate the mystery of Christmas in the churches where the birth of the Christ Child is represented. We want to give thanks for our families.<br \/>\nThank you for the parents who built this house on firm rock, which did not sink when the winds picked up&#8230;<br \/>\nThank you for our parents who filled the house with offspring, forgetting their rest, sacrificing their lives&#8230;<br \/>\nThank you for the parents who taught love by loving, who illuminated, demanded and gratified&#8230;<br \/>\nThank you for the brothers, with whom we learned to play and share, sometimes to cry&#8230;<br \/>\nThank you for the brothers, with whom we have always been united&#8230;<br \/>\nThank you for grandparents, kindness personified, gift and understanding, patience, extreme industriousness, gratuitousness&#8230;<br \/>\nThank you for the other relatives, the uncles, so endearing, and the cousins, so pleasant and fun, who enriched our meetings and parties&#8230;<br \/>\nThank you for the godfathers and godmothers who loved and gave so much, so good, so humble, whom we have already internally canonized&#8230;<br \/>\nThank you for everyone who entered and left the house, who oxygenated and enlarged it&#8230;<br \/>\nThank you for everyone who helped us grow in faith, in joy, in culture, in education&#8230;<br \/>\nThank you all family\u2026<br \/>\nThank you all families\u2026<br \/>\nThank you, my God, for my family.<\/p>\n<p>(Singing)<\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis tells us about Christmas:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI invite you to stop in front of the manger, because there the tenderness of God speaks to us. There we contemplate divine mercy, which has become flesh and which softens our gaze. Jesus has not limited himself to incarnate or to dedicate a little time to us, but he has come to share our life, to welcome our desires, because he has wanted and continues to want to live here, with us and for us, he is interested in our world that At Christmas it has become his world. The manger tells us that he never imposes himself by force. He has come with great simplicity, humility, meekness. He becomes small, he becomes a child to attract us with love, to touch our hearts with his humble goodness, to move with his poverty those who strive to accumulate the false treasures of this world.<\/p>\n<p>Christmas is not just about something emotional, sentimental, it moves us because it tells the reality of what we are: we are a people on the road and around us and within us there are darkness and lights. A light that invites us to reflect on this mystery, a mystery of walking and seeing.<\/p>\n<p>The grace that has appeared in the world is Jesus. Born of the Virgin Mary, God and true man. He has come into our history, he has shared our path, he has come to free us from the darkness and give us light. In Him the grace, the mercy, the tenderness of God the Father have appeared. Jesus is love made flesh.<\/p>\n<p>The shepherds were the first to see this tent, to receive the announcement of the birth of Jesus. The first because they were among the last, the marginalized and because they were awake that night guarding their flock. It is the condition of the pilgrim to stay awake, and they were awake. With them we remain before the Child. We remain silent and thank the Lord for giving us Jesus and praise his faithfulness.<\/p>\n<p>The Lord tells us once again: \u201cdo not be afraid\u201d, as the angels said to the shepherds, and I also repeat to everyone \u201cdo not be afraid\u201d, our Father is patient with us, he loves us, he gives us Jesus as a guide in the road to the promised land. He is the light that dispels darkness, He is mercy. Our Father always forgives us and He is our peace.<\/p>\n<p>Do we have the courage to tenderly welcome the difficult situations and problems of those at our side or do we prefer impersonal solutions, perhaps effective, but without the warmth of the gospel? How much need for tenderness does the world have today! Do I let myself be reached by Him? Do I let myself be hugged by him or do I prevent him from getting closer? This is the question that the child asks us with his mere presence: Do I allow God to love me?<\/p>\n<p>Life has to be lived with kindness, with meekness. When we realize that God is in love with our smallness, that He makes Himself small to facilitate an encounter with us, we cannot help but open our hearts to them and beg Him: Lord, help me to be like you.<\/p>\n<p>(Singing)<\/p>\n<p>(Our Father Prayer)<\/p>\n<p>Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among all women and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death\u2026 Amen.<br \/>\nAnd the blessing of Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit descend upon you, upon your families
