Allocution, July 18, XVI Sunday in Ordinary Time

 

Thanks to all those who make this radio broadcast possible, today, Sunday, July 18, the sixteenth ordinary Sunday of the liturgical time. In all churches the gospel of Mark, chapter 6, verses 30 to 34, is read.

The apostles return happy from the completed mission that Jesus had entrusted to them and invites them to go to a quiet place to rest. A good quiet place to rest from daily work is our home, the best place, not only because we spend the most time of our lives, every day, but because there is the greatest wealth of our existence: the love of our parents, of spouses, grandparents, siblings, grandchildren and other relatives.

But if the husband is greeted by a hairy spider, there is no palace and there is hell.

If children contemplate how their parents love each other, they will want to spend more time at home and not far from it, and they will learn what true marriage is like and the happiness that it entails, and they will want to have a marriage like that, and it will be easier for them to understand and live the life. family affection, brotherhood, which seeks the happiness of the brother or sister, and it will be very easy for them to extend that brotherhood to friends in the neighborhood, at school, in the park. How happy it is for parents to have children like this.

When the in-laws see that the daughter and the son-in-law, the daughter-in-law and the son love each other, help each other, feel content and happy, their conflicts with the husbands and wives of the sons and daughters will end. What peace, what a quiet place where we all want to be.

When the grandparents, who have been alone for hours, and those they love arrive, great joy is present and the loneliness felt and suffered disappears; Peace returned to the house, tranquility multiplied and it can be enjoyed for them and for everyone. And when the sick see those who love and care for them enter through the door of the house, their pain will be forgotten because the medicine of love has arrived. And by being all together in the palace of tranquility, by all cooperating in household chores, by all eating together, by watching interesting programs on television all together and making comments and by all praying together, our house will become an extraordinary palace, where everyone will want to return early and spend as much time as possible. And we all like to visit palaces and live in them, and so do the neighbors. And the neighbors, seeing that it is possible to live in palaces of love, will build their own.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, who lived in Nazareth in a palace of love, peace and harmony, pray for our families to always live in a quiet place full of peace.

A quiet place is the tabernacle where Jesus Christ is found in the consecrated bread. The way, the truth, the life, the shepherd. Going to the tabernacle, marked by a little red light in the church, and talking with Jesus fills us with peace. All those who spend a moment of confession in front of the tabernacle leave transformed and feel guided in their lives by the good shepherd. If you are overwhelmed, tell Christ your burden; If you suffer, tell him your pain; If you cry, do it in front of him; If you can’t forgive, tell him so; If your family is a mess, introduce it to them; If you have done wrong, ask for forgiveness; If you have no hope tell him whyIf you are sick, pray for health of soul and body. Tell him about your life, your family, your church, your town.

If in your family, if in your house, there is a conflictive person, write a letter to God and put it under the tabernacle asking that everything be improved and that everything be fixed. As the disciples on Easter Sunday afternoon we also tell you:

“Stay with us Lord, because the night is coming and the day is declining. Stay with us to dispel our doubts, to calm our fears, to show us the way. Stay with us to comfort us in our sadness, to support us in our weaknesses, to sanctify us by your Spirit. Stay with us according to your promise, every day and until the end of the world. Amen.

For those who died due to the pandemic and for their loved ones who suffer their absence and the human pain of not having accompanied them in pain… Saint Mary of Charity pray for us.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among all women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
