Cardinal Jaime Ortega Alamino is awarded the medal of the University of EichstattOnce the XI International Seminar of the Dialogue Program between Germany and Cuba was inaugurated, Dr. Richard Schenk OP, Rector of the Catholic University of Eichstatt-Ingoldstadt, awarded Cardinal Jaime Ortega Alamino, Archbishop of Havana, the University Medal . It is the third time that this distinction has been awarded by the great educational center.

In the words of Dr. Richard Schenk OP, this distinction constitutes recognition and support for the pastoral work of Cardinal Ortega, marked by the search for dialogue and encounter, forgiveness and reconciliation among all Cubans.

Eichstätt-Ingolstadt University is the only Catholic university in Germany. In addition, it is the largest private university center in the country. Pope Benedict XVI received an honorary doctorate from this university.
