…I thank God, who has allowed me to visit this beautiful Island, which left such a deep mark on the heart of my beloved Predecessor, Blessed John Paul II, when he was in these lands as a messenger of truth and hope. I have also ardently desired to come among you as a pilgrim of charity, to thank the Virgin Mary for the presence of her venerated image in the Sanctuary of Copper, from where she accompanies the path of the Church in this Nation and inspires courage in all Cubans. so that, with the hand of Christ, they discover the genuine meaning of the desires and desires that reside in the human heart and achieve the necessary strength to build a society of solidarity, in which no one feels excluded…
