Allocution, Sunday, September 20

Allocution Sunday, September 20.

Thank you to everyone who makes this radio broadcast possible today, Sunday, September 20, Sunday the 25th of Ordinary Liturgical Time.

In all the Catholic churches of the world this fragment of the gospel according to Saint Matthew, chapter 20, verses 1 to 6, is read.

God gives everything. He has given us nature, life, family. What has each of us done to have life, a dad, a mom? What does each one of us do so that the sun rises, so that the seed becomes a bush and so that the heart is beating? The only thing we do is preserve, care for, grow what God gives us.

To give life, the husband and wife put love, life is given by God.

God gives us gifts, to some a greater intelligence, to others the arts, to others skills for trades, to others wisdom to work.

We rejoice in the many blessings that God gives us and we rejoice when we see these gifts in our brothers. We do not feel envy because what a brother has is joy for everyone.

Everything we have is received from God.

We present to God everything received from Him and we promise to develop it and make it grow and put it at the service of everyone selflessly.

(Song)

God has given us the years. Take advantage of them, they are a blessing.

Old is he who is very old, old is he who has lost his joviality. Age causes degeneration of cells; Old age produces the deterioration of the spirit.

You are older when you ask yourself… is it worth it? You are old when, without thinking, you answer no.

You are older when you dream. You are old when you can barely sleep.

You are older when you are still learning. You are old when you no longer teach.

You are older when you get to do exercises. You are old when most of your time is spent sitting or lying down.

You are greatest when the day that begins is unique. It’s old when every day is the same.

You are older when you have projects and obligations on your agenda to complete tomorrow, the day after, or next week. It’s old when your agenda is blank and you only live thinking about yesterdays.

The oldest tries to renew himself every day that begins. The old man stops to think that this could be the last of his days and becomes depressed. Because while the eldest looks at the horizon, where the sun rises and illuminates his hopes, the old man has waterfalls that look at the shadows of yesterday. In short, the older person may have the same chronological age as the older person, but their differences are in their spirit or in their heart.

May everyone live a long life and never become “OLD” and may he who is old learn to enjoy every minute of his day like the “ELDERLY”!

(Song)

Envy is one of the worst things that can happen to us.

Once upon a time there was a seagull that was sad all day. The poor seagull was very envious of all the animals around him.
The seagull was envious of the horse, because it could run very fast. He was so envious that he tried to sting him whenever he could.
The seagull was also envious of the fish, because they could explore the bottom of the river. That’s why, whenever I could, I tried to bite him.
Another animal that the seagull envied was the mole, because it knew everything that happened inside the earth. So every time the mole showed its head the seagull tried to sting it.
One day the horse, the fish and the mole met by the river to try to find a solution. The seagull was becoming a real nuisance.
“We should talk to the seagull and make him see that he also has good things,” said the horse.
The mole and the fish thought it was a good idea. And they do it like that.
When the seagull tried to sting the horse, it said:
-What have I done to you to make you sting me, seagull?
“Run very fast,” said the seagull. I can’t run, and I don’t like that.
“But you can fly and go higher than I could jump,” said the horse. I would like to be able to fly too, and that’s not why I’m trying to hurt you just because you can.
-It’s true! -said the seagull-. Thank you.
After a while he went to bite the fish. He stuck his head out and asked:
-What have I done to you to make you sting me, seagull?
“Explore the bottom of the river,” said the seagull. I can’t do it, and I don’t like that.
“But you can know the secrets of the trees,” said the fish. I can’t, and I would like to. But that’s not why I attack you.
-It’s true! -said the seagull-. Thank you.
After a while the seagull went to bother the mole. This one told him:
-What have I done to you to make you sting me, seagull?
-“You play with the earth,” said the seagull. I can’t do it, and I don’t like that.
“But you can see all the wonders that the sun illuminates,” said the mole. I can’t, and that doesn’t mean I want to hurt you.
-It’s true! -said the seagull-. Thank you.
The seagull learned that, although he could not do some things, he had many gifts that he could enjoy. And he never again worried about what he couldn’t do. Since then the seagull enjoys everything that nature has given it and does not feel envious of other animals that can do things that it cannot do.

Next Thursday the 24th we celebrate the feast of the Virgin of Mercy

The Virgin of Mercy, the Virgin of the gift, the Virgin of the gift, when carrying out her mission as mother of the prisoners, descended from heaven and was present to Pedro Nolasco so that he could continue his work of helping the captives, that is, release prisoners and return them home. Thus, Saint Pedro Nolasco, Saint Raimundo de Peñafort and King Jaime of Aragón founded the order of Santa María de la Merced in the 13th century for the redemption of captives. The habit or dress of these prisoner servants was white. The color white indicates kindness, cleanliness, honesty, purity, helpfulness.

What does the Virgin Mary of Mercy want?

Those who dress in white like the Virgin of Mercy, those who listen to the Word of God and fulfill it like the Virgin of Mercy, teach those who do not know, give good advice to those who need it, correct those who make mistakes, They forgive those who offend them, they console the sad, they patiently suffer the defects of their neighbors, they pray to God for the living and the dead, they visit and care for the sick, they feed the hungry, they give drink to the thirsty, they welcome the pilgrim, They dress the naked, they comfort the prisoner, they accompany those who go to the cemetery to bury their dead.

(Song)

Father God, who created people to be good, forgive them when they are bad and let them know that You love them.

Jesus Christ, who took the good thief to paradise, sends fathers, mothers, friends, priests, educators, to show the right path to those who have made a mistake.

Holy Spirit, you can achieve clemency for prisoners, justice for the innocent, reintegration into the family, the Church and society for those who were in prison.

Santa María de la Merced,

Sweet mother, don’t go away,

don’t take your eyes off me,

come with me everywhere,

and just never leave me.

And since you protect me so much,

like a true mother,

make them bless me

The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
