Sermon of the Seven Words
Lord Jesus Christ, son of God made man in the virginal womb of Mary who was born like us, you were carried, fed, bathed, guided, defended, taught by the Virgin and Saint Joseph, you made a pilgrimage to the temple of Jerusalem singing Psalm 21.
You worked wood, you were a friend and servant of those who lived in Nazareth, you proclaimed the Word of God, you shared sorrows and joys with your people, you dined with the apostles, you washed their feet, you were betrayed, insulted, scourged, crowned with thorns, crucified, dead and buried, but you have lived again forever, you have risen and are waiting for us in the house of heaven.
We learned prayer from you and now we pray.
Listen to our pleas, listen to us who have experienced the same thing as you.
There are many blessed fruits in the maternal breasts of pregnant women. You, Lord Jesus Christ, were blessed fruit. Protect them and their children, defend them from abortion and grant them a happy birth.
You knew the marriage of Saint Joseph and the Virgin Mary, the marriage of Cana of Galilee and many others.
Help spouses so that their natural, faithful and fruitful love makes them and their children happy.
Remember the wives abandoned by their husbands. May they know how to forgive and they return to love first.
Teach children to listen to their parents, as you did, and enlighten parents and children so that together they can find the best path.
Lord Jesus Christ, walk with young people, enlighten them so that they can form beautiful families and serve society with passionate dedication in their jobs and professions.
As you accompanied your beloved Joseph, in the midst of his illness and death, may all sons and daughters do the same with their sick and dying parents. What peace to die surrounded by those we have loved and who love us!
Lord Jesus Christ, remember our deceased, who remain in the indelible memory of our families and people. With your blood shed on the cross, forgive their sins, reward all their good works, those that we know and do not know, and also remember us who want to be with them in paradise.
Lord Jesus Christ, give the company of the Sorrowful Virgin to the mothers who mourn the death of their children, to the mothers who are next to their sick children, to the mothers worried about their children, to the mothers who miss their children who They are far away, to the mothers of the prisoners.
Saint Mary of Charity, comfort all these mothers and their families, remember that all these mothers are your daughters.
Holy Mary, Sorrowful Virgin, you have children who are angry, who insult and harm each other. Carry them in your arms and put love and forgiveness between them and peace and joy will be reborn and they will live again as your children and brothers that they are.
In the Sanctuary of El Cobre there is an oil lamp that has burned and shines in front of the Virgin since 1612. We want to light our lamp in honor of the Virgin and from here, from our homes, the prayer of praise and supplication that is the Hail Mary becomes our lamp.

Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you for so many good people who accompany us in life: doctors, nurses, teachers, work and study colleagues, neighbors, friends, helpful people and many others to whom we have a lot to thank.
Infuse them with the grace of the Holy Spirit, so that this love may multiply and make many and us happy.
In these good people, love has won. They are a sign of your resurrection.
Lord Jesus Christ, you taught us the Lord’s Prayer.
In 1975, a teacher at the Cunagua central school gave a class on what a grammatical sentence is and asked the elementary school girl, Adriana, to compose a sentence. And the girl told the teacher that she was going to say the prayer that her aunt, Caridad Carballo, had taught her. And it began: Our Father, who art in heaven… and all the children in the class joined Adriana and prayed the Lord’s Prayer together.

We promise to pray the Our Father and Hail Mary prayers with the children every night of this Holy Week.

God the Father who created us to constitute a beautiful family, bless all those who live in our homes with mercy. Amen.
Jesus Christ, way, truth and life, be present with your blessing for all Cubans and love be our hallmark.
The Holy Spirit, who is God and the Third Person of the Holy Trinity, inspires us how to realize our beautiful personal, family, ecclesiastical and national dreams.
And the blessing of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit descend upon all Cubans wherever they are. Amen.
