Thank you to everyone who makes this radio broadcast possible celebrating the Sixth Sunday of Easter.

We hear the gospel of Saint John, chapter 14, verses 15-21, an evangelical text that is read in all Catholic churches this Sunday.

God is love. He thought of us from eternity. His thoughts about us are loving. He created us in the womb through an act of love from our parents and made us in their image and likeness. He is love, peace, eternity. In the womb we feel the mercy of our parents, their caresses. His conversations with us when we were inside our mother have been forever recorded in our unconscious even though we do not remember them.

In the first years of our lives we totally depended on the love of our family: hygiene, food, medicine, education.

As we grew up, God sent us messengers of love: grandparents, teachers, friends, neighbors, priests, nuns, doctors, nurses and an immense legion of angels on earth who showed us the path to happiness, which is to be good.

On this Sunday we thank God for so many good people he has sent us and we thank them themselves.

Being grateful is wonderful. Being ungrateful destroys life.

(Song)

The Lord has said: If you love me, you will keep my commandments. What are the commandments?

The 1st: Love God above all things. He who loves God does not deny him and says with healthy pride that he believes in Father God.

The 2nd Commandment: Thou shalt not take God’s name in vain. You shall not swear falsely by his name. You will not insult him. Nothing happens to God because I insult him, it’s me who becomes a savage.

The 3rd commandment: You shall keep holy the day of the Lord. You will thank your Creator every day and especially on Sunday, the day Christ was resurrected. You will sing to him, you will praise him with a grateful heart and when possible, in the Church of your town, together with your Christian friends.

The 4th commandment: You will honor your father and mother. What peace it is to return to our parents, when they are older, all the love they gave us in our lives!

What a father and mother want, even when they are sick, is for their children to be by their side. The elderly, when they are loved, bathed, medicated and hearing sweet words, do not want to die. The elderly, mistreated, despised, want to die as soon as possible.

Fifth commandment: Do not kill, do not commit suicide, do not hit anyone. Defend the life that is in the womb.

Thank you mom, for giving birth to us. What would become of us if you had had the abortion!

Sixth commandment: Do not commit impure acts, respect our wonderful sex that unites spouses in love and gives life. When we respect our sex, there are no sexually transmitted diseases that destroy our health.

Seventh commandment: Do not steal. Share. He who steals could escape human justice, but not the justice of God hurt by the suffering caused to one of his children. What happiness to share what we have! Never miss it.

Eighth commandment: Do not give false testimony or lie. Telling a lie is already a problem because to sustain it you have to tell 9 lies. If I tell 10 lies I am a liar. Gossip, telling me what I’ll tell you, destroy people, families, churches and towns.

Ninth commandment: You will not indulge impure thoughts and desires. No husband likes his wife to be unfaithful just as no wife likes her husband to be unfaithful. How wonderful to celebrate one, 10, 25, 50 years of marriage!

Send to the Archbishopric of Havana, telephone 78624000, the date of marriage and the years of marriage and we will give you a gift that you will really like.

Tenth commandment: Thou shalt NOT covet other people’s goods. You will rejoice in the good things of your neighbor and congratulate him. You will never be envious of your brothers, children of God.

If we live the Ten Commandments of God’s law, it means we love Him. You imagine an entire people living the law of God, the ten commandments! What peace, what tranquility, what happiness!

The teaching of the Church, supported by the Bible, invites us to perform spiritual works of mercy:

  1. Teach those who do not know.
  2. Give good advice to those who need it.
  3. Correct those who make mistakes.
  4. Forgive those who offend us.
  5. Comfort the sad.
  6. Suffer patiently the defects of others.
  7. Pray to God for the living and the deceased.

The Church also invites us to live the corporal works of mercy:

  1. Visit and care for the sick.
  2. To feed the hungry.
  3. Give drink to the thirsty.
  4. Host the pilgrim.
  5. Dress naked.
  6. Help the prisoner and his family.
  7. Pray for the deceased.

Be very happy every time you do a work of mercy. God will feel loved by you.

Prayer of petition to Mary, untier of knots

Holy Mary, filled with the Presence of God,

During the days of your life you accepted with all humility the will of the Father,
Already, together with your Son, you interceded for our difficulties and, with all simplicity and patience,

you gave us an example of how to untangle the skein of our lives.

and, by remaining forever our Mother, you put in order and make clearer the ties that unite us to the Lord.

Holy Mary, Mother of God and our Mother,

the one who with a motherly heart unties the knots

that hinder our lives,
We ask you to receive the countless knots in your hands

(make your request here),

and free us from ties and confusion

with which our enemy, the devil, harasses us.

By your grace, by your intercession, by your example, deliver us from all evil.

Our lady, untie the knots

that prevent us from uniting ourselves with God,

so that, free from all confusion and error,

let us find it in all things,

let us set our hearts on Him

and we can always serve you in our brothers.

Amen.

The house of a thousand mirrors.

It is said that long ago, in a small, distant town, there was an abandoned house.

One day, a little dog, seeking shelter from the sun, managed to get through a hole in one of the doors of said house.

The doggy climbed slowly the old wood stairs. When he finished climbing the stairs he came across a half-open door and slowly entered the room.

To his surprise, he realized that inside that room there were a thousand more dogs watching him as intently as he watched them.

The little dog began to wag his tail and raise his ears little by little.

The one thousand dogs did the same.

He then smiled and barked happily at one of them.

The little dog is surprised to see that the thousand little dogs were barking at him!!

When the little dog left the room he thought to himself: What a nice place! I’m going to come more often to visit him!

Some time later, another stray dog entered the same place and the same room.

But unlike the first, this little dog, upon seeing the other thousand dogs in the room, felt threatened since they were looking at him in an aggressive way.

Later he began to growl and obviously saw how the other thousand dogs growled at him.

He started barking at them fiercely and the other thousand little dogs barked at him too.

When this little dog left the room he thought: What a horrible place this is! I’ll never go in there again!

In front of said house there was an old sign that said: “The house of a thousand mirrors.”

If you shout at home, everyone will shout at you.

If you smile, everyone will smile at you.

The reflection of your gestures and actions is what you project to others and they give it back to you.

(Song)

What would you choose? Wealth, success or love?

A woman was leaving her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in front of her house. He did not recognize them and said:

“I don’t think I know them, but they must be hungry. Please come in and accept something to eat.”

And one of them asked:

“Is the man of the house inside?”

“No,” she said. “He came out”.

“Then we cannot pass,” they replied.

In the afternoon when her husband came home, she told him what had happened to her.

“Go tell them I’m home and invite them in.”

The woman came out and invited the men to come in.

“We didn’t go to a house together,” they responded.

“Why is it like that?” she wanted to know.

One of the elders explained to him:

“His name is Wealth,” pointing to one of his friends, and pointing to the other he said:

“He is Success, and I am Love.”

Then he added:

“Now go and discuss with your husband which of us you want in your house.”

The woman came in and told her husband what she had been told.

Her husband rejoiced.

“How good!!,” he said.

“Since this is the case, let’s invite Wealth.”

“Let him come and fill our house with wealth.”

His wife did not agree:

“My dear, why don’t we invite Éxito?”

The daughter was listening from the opposite side of the house. He jumped in with his own suggestion:

“Wouldn’t it be better to invite Love?”

“Our house will then be full of love!”

“Let us pay attention to our daughter,” the husband said to his wife.

“Go out and invite Love to be our guest.”

The woman came out and asked the three elders:

“Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest. ”

Amor stood up and started walking towards the house. The other two also stood up and followed him.

Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success:

“I only invited Amor, why are you guys coming?”

The elders responded:

“Wherever he goes, we accompany him. Wherever there is love, there is also wealth and success.”

Now we turn spiritually to Jesus Christ, to the Virgin and to all those who are in heaven.

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, intoxicate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, comfort me.
Oh, good Jesus! Hear me.
Inside your wounds, hide me.
Don’t let me separate from You.
From the enemy, defend me.
At the hour of my death, call me.
And command me to come to You.
So that with your saints I may praise you.
Forever and ever. Amen.

Amen.

Our father…

Ave Maria…
