To start 2019, very early, unexpectedly, on January 27, a powerful tornado, EF4 with gusts of more than 300 kilometers per hour, affected several Havana neighborhoods, and, in less than 20 minutes, left four dead and more than 300 injured, causing collapses in 1,200 homes, 124 of them total, in addition to considerable damage to health institutions, teaching institutions, workshops, factories, transportation and production equipment.
