Homily in celebration of Corpus Christi at the San Carlos and San Ambrosio Seminary

We know from the catechism and theology that Christ at the Last Supper, on Holy Thursday, instituted the Eucharist, remained in the consecrated bread and wine as spiritual food of eternal life, gave the power to his apostles, to the priests, to making him truly present in this bread and wine, he advanced his delivery from Good Friday to Thursday and his saving merits are present in each mass and he remains in the tabernacle to be worshiped and speak with Him.

Doctors and theologians know a lot about this Eucharistic mystery, about the real presence, about transubstantiation. The more knowledge, the more experience.

There are people who do not know much about the Eucharist and live this mystery.

People with crutches, wheelchairs, lame people, who walk kilometers to participate in mass.

80 year old ladies who take the bus to go to mass every Sunday.

Some couples pedal kilometers from their bateyes to go to mass.

People who every time they pass by the temple enter, genuflect, pray before the Blessed Sacrament for a few minutes and continue their work.

Priests who do not stop celebrating masses in their towns despite not having automobile transportation and go on foot, on bicycles, in carts, to the celebration.

Priests who, after ordination, have not stopped celebrating a single daily mass.

Little nuns who have the Tabernacle bright and full of flowers because their husband is there.

Nocturnal worshipers who spend the night before the Tabernacle.

The Curé of Ars, Fray José de la Cruz Espi and many other priests spent night hours worshiping Christ. Hence his priestly and pastoral successes.

The faithful who see their priest frequently kneeling before the Tabernacle will do the same.

The people do what they see.

Let us ask the Lord to know him more to worship him more, feel him more, preach him more.
