Homily of S.E.R. Cardinal Juan de la Caridad García for the fifty years of priesthood of Father Mario Aguilar

We thank God the Father for having created Mario César and Julia Bernarda, from whom through marital love the blessed fruit of Mario César Urbano Aguilar Donazar emerged.

What a wonderful gift!

We give thanks to Jesus Christ who chose him and called him to be a Teacher, Priest and Pastor.

How many gospels, catechisms, guidelines, advice you have taught to children, adolescents, young people, couples, adults, the elderly!

Not even you, Father Mario César Urbano, can imagine the untold fruits that are present and multiplied by Pinar del Rio and what your people liked most is that you have made living faith in what you teach.

Thank you, Father Mario César Urbano, for so many baptisms, confessions, eucharists, anointings, and marriages celebrated. How many springs of divine graces have you channeled towards your children and what Jesus Christ and your Church like most is that you imitate what you commemorate.

Thank you, Father Mario César Urbano, for being a shepherd of lost, damaged, abandoned, sick sheep and spending so much time, prayer, sweat and tears to save them. They have not forgotten, despite time, the mercy of God manifested through your shepherding.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for anointing Father Mario César Urbano as priest and keeping that anointing alive and resplendent that sanctifies the people even in the midst of illness and pain.

Thank you, Virgin Mary of Charity and Snow, who carries your priest son and supports him and reminds him: Do not be sad or filled with anguish, am I not here who am your mother?

Thank you rectors and trainers of the Buen Pastor and San Carlos and San Ambrosio seminaries: the good seed planted continues to bear fruit.

Thank you, Church of Christ in Pinar for giving us such a good collaborator of the bishops.

Thanks to all those who pray, help and accompany Father Mario César Urbano. God will never forget what they do.

Glory to the Father who created you.

Glory to the Son who chose you.

Glory to the Spirit who anointed you.

Saint Rosendo, pray for your son.

Saint Francis Xavier, pray for our young people and that they may follow Christ like you and Father Mario César Urbano.
